The Catalans once again smashed the Los Blancos on Saturday,credits to a brilliant performance by the little man,Lionel Messi.He gave a great assist and also homed a goal.The number 10 is now the all time top scorer in El Clasico with 25 goals.On number 2, it's the Real legend Alfredo Di Stefano who scored 18 times in a Clasico.Barcelona also created a record of winning three consecutive El Clasicos in away fixture.
Though Real Madrid were dominant in the first half and attempted a number of attacks, it did not work for them.In the 40th minute of the game, Benzema's header rattled the woodwork.Well,the first half was a real test for the goalkeepers.They both had wonderful game! Keylor Navas was on top of his form.He stood in front of Real's goal like a wall.On the other hand, Messi gave some of the most beautiful through balls one after the other.But no one could turn it into a goal.
In the 55th minute of the game,a wonderful move started by Rakitic ended up putting the visitors ahead.His pass to Sergei Roberto opened up Real’s defence and the makeshift right-back slotted a nice cross to Suarez, who only had to beat the keeper.It was 1-0 to Barcelona. It was a massive turn around of the game.
Then the Messi-Suarez partnership almost doubled Barca's lead while Dani Carvajal saw a red card because of handling the ball from the goalline. Real Madrid were down to 10 men while Barcelona were awarded a penalty kick.The Argentine maestro sends his spot kick straight into the top corner. It was 2-0 to Barcelona.In the Last minute of the game, Messi charged away from three defenders along the left flank and cuts it back to the substitute Aliex Vidal,who struck it home. It was all over. The final scorline was 3-0 to Barcelona.It was a crushing defeat to Real Madrid.
